So, I watched WALL•E yesternight. It was pretty good all in all. The story with WALL•E and EVA was pretty sound, and it's quite funny that they for the most part ignored the Humans, making use of them only by:
• WALL•E to find EVA
• WALL•E because that's just what he does
• EVA to fulfill her Mission
• EVA to get the Captain to take the Ship to Earth, where WALL•E could be repaired
But yeah, the other Plot with Jeff and Mary or whoever they were was kind of sweet, once you get past how repulsively huge they are
The Auto against Captain bit was very similar to 2001: A Space Odyssey. I liked the progression seen in the Captains' Portraits where you can see Humanity progressively lose bone mass and simultaneously get fatter over the course of 700 years and six Captains. Its funny that despite their massive size, post-modern Medicine allowed each Captain to serve for around 120-140 years.
Overall its a pretty good movie, but do NOT let an anorexic child watch This. It will absolutely mess them up beyond repair hahaha
